Sheraton Design Series with Detalia Aurora

APPLEONE Properties Inc., through its subsidiary The Residences at Sheraton Cebu Mactan Resort, kicked off the “Inspired Design Through Craftsmanship” series last Oct. 15 at The Residences’ Pavilion located in Punta Engaño, Mactan.

Starting the series is the collaborative effort with Detalia Aurora. The company has been in the industry in for more than 20 years, specializing in indoor outdoor furniture and home accessories. Combining modern technology, traditional Filipino craftsmanship and use of indigenous materials, it prides itself in its deep understanding that local can compete at a global level.

It was a one-day experiential event attended by media, personalities and students. People were treated to a furniture design exhibit, influencer talks and a walk-through—interactive demonstration by the artisans in three work stations beginning with the process of rattan-making including using a blowtorch to manipulate the look of the material, the complex process of stone inlay, and weaving, one of the most well-known and preferred techniques.

Through this effort, it hopes to shine a spotlight on Philippine-made products, particularly Cebuano craftsmanship, from the conceptualization, technique to the end result. This is part of The Residences’ goal to celebrate.
